But visually, having the landsers in camo'd zeltbahns really shouts 'late war'.

Of course I'd ideally like to have Germans in greatcoats for those scenarios from about Nov.44 and onwards.Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14996350912869829140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1142282242776435936.post-41353180258696309092010-10-31T15:10:24.340-07:002010-10-31T15:10:24.340-07:00camouflaged zeltbahns were standard issue at the s...camouflaged zeltbahns were standard issue at the start of the war.Catweaselozhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14498698439582711855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1142282242776435936.post-58164515427647445522010-06-15T20:41:22.220-07:002010-06-15T20:41:22.220-07:00No the scenario was OK, just young Mitchell's ...No the scenario was OK, just young Mitchell's die rolling was really appalling! (he was commanding the PzIIIs in the shoot out with the T26s) We also added a few more units so we may have unbalanced things, but it was still fun.Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14996350912869829140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1142282242776435936.post-53846650444008685652010-06-15T16:25:04.442-07:002010-06-15T16:25:04.442-07:00Hi James:

One thought about the final paragraph - I haven't played that Vyazma scenario, but I'm wondering if the scenario design adequately handicapped the Russians for their lousy doctrine, undermanned and slower firing tanks, and poorer command and control? There are lots of accounts of Soviet tanks being knocked out because they didn't take advantage of the ground, stayed exposed on the skyline, etc.

Whatever. This is a very nice post and your stuff all looks good.

Cheers,

MikeMad Padrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00410143683610813671noreply@blogger.com
