Googly Coincidence or Googly Big Brother?

So a few days after I posted about coolers for my Afghanistan AFV stowage, an ad from eBay shows up in my email for this:

eBay

M1 Abrams Stowage set 1/72 LF7207

Get it now for $9.90
Offer ends on Sunday, March 01 2015

You browsed this item.
There are some coolers in the mix. Plus the price is good. Even if my local model shop (almost an hour's drive away) had it in stock I couldn't buy it this cheap if we include the gas. So I ordered it and it's on the way to dress my LAVs.

I didn't think too much of it at the time but the timing is interesting.

But here's where I'm at with the Husky:

I'm liking the coil of tow cable. I'll make more of those for a couple of the LAVs and one of the Bisons.

  1. It is a bit disconcerting when this kind of thing happens. I do online research into various places when writing my novels. Invariably afterwards I receive emails and have pop-up commercials for B&Bs and tourist sights in the areas I look at.

  2. I'm pretty sure it's not coincidence and more like some pretty intelligent (and slightly sinister) programming happening. This sort of thing will become more and more prevalent too.

Still there's no denying that it has its usefulness too.

  3. Yes, it was probably me checking eBay for 1/72 scale stowage that got the ad sent to me, and serendipity that this set actually had coolers pictured (which was the detail that sealed the deal for me).
